The Untamed Youth is a legendary American garage/surf band from Columbia, Missouri. The group formed in 1987 when all the members were in high school.  The group's lead singer and guitarist Deke Dickerson has had a long career in music through his groups The Whippersnappers, The Ecco-Fonics, The Dave and Deke Combo, and The Go-Nuts. Other members include Steve "King of Men" Mace, Steve "Sammy" Rager, and Chris Sprague AKA "Gringo Starr" AKA "Sugarballs" from Los Straitjackets & Nick Lowe. 

The Untamed Youth released numerous albums through the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s and toured all over the world. Recently the group reunited for several shows and to record this new album "Git Up and Go," a return to their wild rock 'n' roll

The inspiration for the new album came from a surge of new excitement about the band caused by some high energy reunion shows last year. The band had a week between shows and decided it was a perfect time to return to the studio. The band roared back to life with all the momentum of a brand new band, but with their many years of experience guiding their hands.

The Untamed Youth grew up influenced by Chris Montez and The Trashmen, so it was a tremendous breakthrough moment when both Chris Montez and Tony Andreason of agreed to collaborate on guest spots on the new album! Fans of surf, garage and 1960s party rock who aren't familiar with The Untamed Youth's legacy will find the new album ranks along their favorites of the genre, and the band's many lifelong fans will be thrilled to hear that the group hasn't mellowed with age...if anything, they've become more untamed!
