First Listen: Life of Grime “Yeoh”

We are thrilled to offer an exclusive first listen of “Yeoh” - A side to the debut 45 from Chris Lujan’s Life of Grime.
"This is my take on the sounds of 90s hip hop" says Bay Area producer & multi-instrumentalist Lujan.
On his latest project, Lujan layers his signature soulful and cinematic instrumentation over top of hard-hitting, golden era hip hop-inspired boom bap beats.
"Producers like Prince Paul, Dan the Automator, the Jurassic 5 DJs (Numark and Cut Chemist), and Wu-Tang are huge inspirations,” says Lujan. “But, I’m not covering their songs, only copping the vibe. All with live instruments, no samples.”
The 45 is available for pre-order now in limited random color & "black coffee" variants
Dubbed the hardest working man in the soul business, Lujan has worked alongside Trish Toledo, Peligro Brass, The M-Tet and Andre Cruz, shared stages with Lee Fields, Thee Sacred Souls and Monophonics, and released a wide range of soulful sounds on his own Lugnut Brand record label.
